Monitoring of wastewater treatment works and water resources entails the following:
  1. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to industrial effluent and wastewater discharge, and environmental protection
  2. Issuing of industrial effluent discharge permits in line with ISO 14001, local government industrial effluent discharge regulatory standards
  3. Issuing non-compliance letters to industries producing effluent which does not comply with permit conditions
  4. Maintaining compliance tracking mechanisms to monitor compliance of industrial effluent discharges into the municipal sewerage system
  5. Monitoring compliance of permit holding effluent generating industries through analysis of samples collected from their pre-treatment system and interpretation of the results obtained
  6. Prepare all compliance documentation for submission to the auditor general for auditing
  7. Stay updated with local and national water quality regulations, standards, and guidelines
